Carolina Just Punched Their Ticket Back to the Eastern Conference Final and the Hurricanes Are Hungry

The Hurricanes are headed back to the Eastern Conference Final, and they did it by eliminating the Flyers in their second round matchup. Carolina's roster, led by goalie Andersen who has been locked in throughout the playoffs, proved too much for Philadelphia to handle down the stretch. Blake delivered the clinching goal that sent the Hurricanes dancing, and now they're waiting to face either the Sabres or Canadiens in the next round.

Andersen Standing Tall in Net

Andersen has been absolutely locked in for the Hurricanes, and that's been the difference in a playoff run that's now advanced them past the second round. A goalie playing at that level in May is exactly what you need when you're trying to make a deep run. The Flyers had their chances, but couldn't find enough offense to get past Carolina's overall depth and Andersen's stellar play between the pipes.

The Road Ahead Gets Real

Now comes the real test. The Hurricanes will face the winner of the Buffalo and Montreal series in the Eastern Conference Final. That's a completely different animal, but Carolina's already proven they can execute when it matters. They've got the goaltending locked down, they've got the grit, and they've got the belief that they can keep pushing deeper into this tournament.

The Hurricanes are heading to the Eastern Conference Final, and the way Andersen has been playing, they should feel dangerous about their chances against whoever comes out of that Montreal and Buffalo series.
