Wait Until You Hear What Happened: CeeDee Lamb's College Years: From [College] to the NFL

Before CeeDee Lamb was lighting up NFL defenses for the Dallas Cowboys, he was dazzling fans in Norman, Oklahoma, donning the crimson and cream for the Sooners. Lamb arrived at the University of Oklahoma as a highly touted four-star recruit from Richmond, Texas, quickly living up to the hype and establishing himself as a foundational piece of their high-powered offense from day one.

From Promising Recruit to Oklahoma Star

Lamb didn't waste any time making his presence felt. As a true freshman in 2017, he immediately showcased his potential, hauling in 46 receptions for 807 yards and 7 touchdowns. He built on that promising start in his sophomore campaign (2018), becoming a more polished and consistent target for quarterback Kyler Murray. That year saw him record 65 catches for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns, demonstrating an improved ability to make contested catches and extend plays after the catch. His chemistry with Murray was evident, and he proved he could thrive in a championship-caliber offense.

However, it was his junior season in 2019 that truly cemented CeeDee Lamb's status as one of college football's elite pass-catchers. Playing alongside quarterback Jalen Hurts, Lamb exploded for 62 receptions, 1,327 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns. He routinely made highlight-reel plays, showcasing incredible body control, strong hands in traffic, and an uncanny ability to turn short gains into long touchdowns. His junior year was a masterclass in receiver play, earning him Consensus All-American honors and making him a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver.

Throughout his time at Oklahoma, Lamb's development was remarkable. He arrived with natural athleticism and good hands but refined his route running, blocking, and overall football IQ under the Sooners' tutelage. By the time he declared for the NFL Draft after his junior year, he was widely regarded as one of the top wide receiver prospects, ready to transition his game-breaking ability to the professional level.
