Chiefs Coach Merritt Skates By, And The League's Silence Is Deafening To Seahawks Fans

Alright 12s, pull up a stool, because the latest out of the league office is gonna make your blood boil. Remember all the noise around Chiefs DBs coach Merritt? Well, sources are confirming that the NFL has decided to hand down absolutely ZERO discipline. Yep, you heard that right. Nothing. Nada. Just another day in the NFL, folks, where some teams seem to operate under a different set of rules. We bleed blue and green here in the Emerald City, and this kind of news just feels like a gut punch when you're trying to believe in a fair game.

The "Non-Decision" That Makes Zero Sense

You gotta wonder what they're doing over there in the league offices, honestly. Sources are clear: absolutely no discipline for Chiefs DBs coach Merritt. None. Our rivals in Kansas City, whose coach was under the microscope for whatever reason, just got a complete free pass. No suspension, no fine, no slap on the wrist. This isn't some minor infraction that just fades into the background, and for the league to just wave it off? It screams volumes. It sends a message, whether they intend to or not, that some teams, particularly those constantly in the spotlight, can just cruise while everyone else is busting their hump and playing by the strictest interpretations of the rules. It's frustrating as a Seattle fan, knowing our guys, led by Coach Mike Macdonald, are expected to uphold every standard, every single week. It just feels like a double standard, and it makes you question the fairness of it all when you're watching from the Pacific Northwest.

Our Hawks Are Focused On What Matters

But hey, we can't let that distract us from what truly matters: our Hawks! We're locked in, looking forward to a fantastic season under Coach Mike Macdonald and OC Brian Fleury. Our roster is stacked, from Sam Darnold under center, slinging it to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and the veteran Cooper Kupp. They're all putting in the work, knowing every single snap matters. We've got our eyes set on the New England Patriots on September 9th, a huge Monday night game at 5:20 PM MT. That's our chance to show the entire league what real football looks like, where every yard is earned and every victory is fought for tooth and nail. It's a prime-time slot, and you know Lumen Field is going to be rocking, ready to drown out those Patriot chants. Speaking of rivals, the Chiefs are set to face the Denver Broncos on September 14th, also a Monday night game. You can bet they'll be out there, coach Merritt on the sidelines, probably grinning, acting like nothing happened, while the rest of us are left shaking our heads. So, while the NFL might be playing favorites, we certainly aren't. We're here for our Hawks, for the grit, the passion, and the undeniable energy of the 12s. We can't control what happens in Kansas City, or what the league decides not to do, but we *can* control how we support our team. Let's make sure our presence is felt, loud and proud, starting with that September 9th opener against the Patriots. Every single game this season is a battle, and our guys are ready to fight for every single one. Get ready, Seattle, because this season is going to be epic. Go Hawks!
