Cleveland Swept LA and the AL Central Just Took Notice

The Guardians just ran through the Angels like they owed them money. After taking the first two games of the series, Cleveland finished the job on May 13 with a 4-2 victory to complete the sweep. The Angels are now sitting at 16-28, one of the worst records in baseball right now, while the Guardians improved to 24-21 and are starting to look like a real threat in the division.

Cleveland's Momentum is Real

This wasn't some fluke performance against a struggling team. Well, okay, the Angels are struggling, but the Guardians showed up and did their job. They went into Los Angeles, took care of business, and are headed back to Cleveland with all the momentum they could ask for. At 24-21, they're starting to separate themselves and putting pressure on the rest of the AL Central to keep pace.

LA's Nightmare Just Got Darker

The Angels are falling apart in a hurry. Sitting at 16-28, they're among the worst teams in baseball and now they've got a sweep on their record courtesy of Cleveland. This is the kind of loss that stings, the kind that makes you wonder what's next if you're an Angels fan watching from California.

What's Next

Next up, they're facing the Astros on May 14, and that's a game where both teams will be looking to make a statement in what's shaping up to be a competitive stretch.
