After signing with the Jets, Hellebuyck made his AHL debut during the 2014-15 season, splitting time between the St. John's IceCaps and later the Manitoba Moose. He proved his readiness quickly, showcasing the calm demeanor and acrobatic saves that would become his trademark. By the 2015-16 season, the call-up to the big league came.
