Dante Fowler Just Landed in Seattle: What Happens to the Pass Rush Now?

The Seahawks signed veteran pass rusher Dante Fowler, and now the real questions start. Mike Macdonald's defense is taking shape, but there's still plenty of work to do before training camp kicks off.

The Move That Addressed the Edge

Adding Fowler to the defensive line gives Seattle a proven pass rusher who can contribute right away. It's a significant addition to the D-line that shows the front office is serious about building a competitive defense. Macdonald has already been outlining his early plans for the roster, and this signing fits directly into what he's trying to build at Lumen Field.

The Roster Is Still Coming Together

The Seahawks' 90-man roster took shape after the 2026 NFL Draft and the Fowler signing, but there are still gaps to fill. The team is evaluating talent across the board. One thing is clear: Macdonald prioritized certain traits above all else in the draft, and now it's about how all these pieces fit together in the system.

What's Still Unanswered

With minicamp concluding and rookies getting their first looks, the real evaluation period is just beginning. Questions remain about depth, positional flexibility, and whether the new additions can stay healthy through the season. The roster looks different than last year, and that means everything needs to click in the right way.

Training camp is coming. Hard Knocks will be there watching. The Seahawks have their pieces. Now it's time to see if they work.
