Harbaugh Says OBJ Decision Can Wait Until Camp, But the Clock Is Ticking

Giants coach John Harbaugh isn't in a rush. At least that's what he's telling Odell Beckham Jr. right now. The two have been in constant contact this week, with Harbaugh saying they've connected three or four times as they explore the possibility of reuniting in New York. But don't expect any major announcement anytime soon. Harbaugh made it crystal clear on Saturday after a Giants rookie minicamp practice that they'll "play it out over the next month and into training camp" before either side commits.

The OBJ Audition: He Still Has It

Here's what matters: Beckham worked out for the Giants last month and "looked good," according to Harbaugh. The 33-year-old free agent clearly hasn't lost a step, which is why this conversation is even happening in the first place. Beckham desperately wants to come home. He was New York's first-round pick back in 2014 out of LSU, and there's obvious chemistry and history there. That connection matters.

It Has to Work for Both Sides

But Harbaugh isn't getting swept up in nostalgia. He's been emphatic that any move involving Beckham has to make sense for the Giants organization and for Beckham himself. This isn't just about two old friends getting back together. It's about whether this fits what the Giants are building right now. Harbaugh has made that clear through his communications with Beckham. The ball is in motion, the conversations are happening, and everything will become clearer over the next month when training camp rolls around.
