Iglesias Back From Injury, Suarez Slides to Setup Role as Braves Head to Seattle

The Atlanta Braves made a move on their bullpen ahead of their matchup with the Seattle Mariners, activating closer Raisel Iglesias off the injured list. The shift brings a familiar name back to the closer's role, but it also means a change in duties for another reliever: Suarez is heading back to a setup role.

Iglesias Returns to Close

Getting Iglesias back in the fold is a big deal for Atlanta's pitching staff. The Braves are sitting at 25-11, the best record in the majors right now, and having a healthy closer on the mound matters when games tighten up late. Iglesias is back, and he's back doing what he does best: finishing games.

Suarez Takes a Step Back

The flip side of this move is Suarez moving into a setup role instead of closing. That's the nature of baseball depth. When your closer returns healthy, someone else has to shift. It's not a demotion in the traditional sense, but it's a change in responsibility and opportunity.

Braves Head to T-Mobile Park

Atlanta rolls into Seattle (17-19) looking to keep their dominance going. The Mariners are still searching for consistency early, and they're about to face one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Braves have won at a historic pace so far this season, and with Iglesias back anchoring the bullpen, they're only getting more dangerous. For Seattle fans, this is a test: can the Mariners stay competitive against a juggernaut? First pitch is coming up, and the bullpen matchup just got a lot more interesting for Atlanta.
