JJ Wetherholt's Two-Run Bomb Keeps Cardinals Rolling Past Athletics

The St. Louis Cardinals are on a serious run, and they just extended it with a 6-4 victory over the Athletics on Tuesday night in West Sacramento, California. JJ Wetherholt was the star of the show, smacking a two-run homer that gave the Cardinals exactly what they needed to keep this winning stretch alive.

Wetherholt Delivers the Big Blow

Wetherholt's two-run shot was the centerpiece of a Cardinals offense that looked locked in at the plate. It's the kind of at-bat that changes the trajectory of a game, and in this case, it gave St. Louis the cushion they needed down the stretch. When you've got your hitters connecting like that, you're going to win games, especially against a team like Oakland.

The Supporting Cast Steps Up

Wetherholt wasn't doing this alone. Jose Fermin added a two-run double that kept the Cardinals' offensive momentum rolling, and Ivan Herrera chipped in with two hits of his own. That's the kind of lineup depth that wins ballgames. You get contributions up and down the order, and suddenly you're walking out of the stadium with a road victory.

Cardinals Keep Rolling

This win is another chapter in what's shaping up to be a strong stretch for the Cardinals. Teams that can win games on the road, especially when they're feeding off performances like Wetherholt's, are teams that stay in the conversation all season long. St. Louis showed up in West Sacramento ready to work, and they left with the result they wanted.
