Lane Kiffin's Five-Star Reload at LSU Is Already Drawing 2027 NFL Draft Buzz and Nobody Saw It Coming This Fast

Lane Kiffin walked into LSU's job and immediately started building something special. His first full roster construction at Baton Rouge is loaded with five-star talent, transfer portal adds, and a deep new class that has the entire SEC on notice. The question everyone in college football is asking right now: how fast can this group actually produce on the field?

The Five-Star Core That's Turning Heads

Trey'Dez Green is the headliner here. The six-foot-seven tight end signed as a five-star back in 2024 and absolutely emerged as one of the SEC's most dangerous weapons in 2025. The kid is already drawing first-round NFL attention for 2027 and looks primed for an All-SEC season. That's not hype, that's what the tape shows.

Jordan Ross transferred in from Tennessee and brings serious pass-rush ability to the defensive line. Jordan Seaton anchors the offensive line at left tackle and looks like a future top NFL pick. On the defensive side, Lamar Brown is the top recruit leading the defensive line, while DJ Pickett developed into a key cornerboard after his freshman season last year.

The Quarterback and Running Back Combo That Signals Long-Term Stability

Kiffin grabbed Husan Longstreet from USC, and the arm talent is legit. Add in running back Harlem Berry from New Orleans who brings explosive playmaking, and you've got a core that tells you Kiffin isn't messing around with this rebuild. This five-star group underscores just how aggressive his roster reconstruction in Baton Rouge has been heading into the 2026 season.

The National Spotlight Starts Week 1

Here's the crazy part: Kiffin's debut as LSU's head coach opens under the brightest lights possible. ESPN College GameDay is heading to Baton Rouge for Week 1 when LSU takes on Clemson at Tiger Stadium. This is a rematch following last year's 17-10 LSU win, but now both programs finished 7-6 after preseason top-10 hype and are looking to reset expectations under serious new pressure in 2026.

Week 3 brings the LSU versus Ole Miss storyline, with Kiffin facing his former program. This loaded roster could end up featured in multiple early-season showcases and staying in the national spotlight all fall long. The rebuild is real, the talent is there, and everyone is watching.
