Mariners' Bats Go Cold in Kansas City, and It's a Major Wake-Up Call for the Emerald City
Another one, man. Just when you think we're building some momentum, the Seattle Mariners go out and drop a *zero* on the scoreboard. May 23, 2026, is a date we're gonna want to forget, fast, after a brutal 0-5 loss to the Kansas City Royals. What. Happened?
The Offensive Blackout in KC
Five runs for them, zero for us. ZERO. That's the part that stings. I'm talking about our guys, like Julio Rodriguez out there in center field, Cal Raleigh behind the plate, we expect more. We *demand* more! To put up a complete goose egg in Kansas City, it's just a gut punch. You gotta wonder, where was the pop? Where was the fight at the plate? The Kansas City Royals got five, we got zilch. That's not how you win ballgames, not if you want to be taken seriously this season.

Look, it's still early in the season, even here in late May. But these kinds of performances, they stick with you. They tell you something about the team's form. This isn't just about one game, right? It's about what it signals. Are the bats truly cold? Is this 0-5 result a blip, or a trend we're gonna see more of? You start to ask those hard questions when you see a line like that. We need consistency, we need a lineup that's putting pressure on opposing pitchers every single night. This 0-5 loss shows we're not there yet, and that's a tough pill for any Mariners fan to swallow.
We gotta shake this off. Fast. The schedule keeps coming, and our Mariners have to find a way to flip the switch. This isn't the team we know, not the team that fights every single pitch. We need to see that fire come back, and we need it yesterday. T-Mobile Park deserves better, and so do the 12s. We'll be watching the next game on the schedule, hoping for a completely different story. Go M's!
