Mickey Moniak Went Full Birthday Bash Mode and the Pirates Had Zero Answer

Happy birthday to Mickey Moniak, who decided the best gift to himself was absolutely unloading on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Colorado Rockies outfielder went off for 5 RBIs as the Rockies rolled past the Pirates, and honestly, there's no better way to celebrate than by carrying your team to a win like that.

Moniak's Birthday Eruption

Look, we all have those days where everything you swing at feels like it's going somewhere good. For Moniak on May 13, that day was today, and the Pirates paid the price for it. Five RBIs is the kind of output that shifts momentum in a game, puts pressure on the opposing pitcher to escape, and forces your team's offense to work harder than they want to.

The Rockies made sure to capitalize on that kind of performance. When you get that kind of production from a key position player, you don't let it go to waste, and Colorado understood the assignment.

Colorado Stays Sharp

The Rockies' win keeps them rolling early in the season. Teams that can lean on one hitter stepping up in a clutch moment but also have the depth to support that kind of game are dangerous. It's not just about one guy going off, it's about the rest of the lineup doing enough to back it up and close things out.

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, got caught on the wrong side of a firing lineup. That's baseball in May, but it's the kind of loss that stings when one player absolutely takes over.
