Newhook's Game 7 OT Winner Was Pure Chaos and the Stanley Cup Race Just Got Wilder
Dude, did you SEE Game 7 last night?! Forget everything you thought you knew about the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Canadiens just pulled off an absolutely bonkers 3-2 overtime victory against Buffalo. Newhook, I'm telling you, this kid is built different. He tucked away the OT winner, sending Montreal into the Eastern Final, and honestly, the entire league is still trying to catch its breath. What a series!
The Wildest Game 7 You'll See All Year
Seriously, if you missed it, go find the highlights right now. This game had everything! Dobes, the Canadiens' goalie, was an absolute wall, sprawling out to deny Thompson. Buffalo didn't just roll over though. Greenway got them on the board with a sick redirect, and then Dahlin, man, he snapped one through the back door in the third period to tie it! Pure heart-stopping stuff. For Montreal, Bolduc unloaded a one-timer on the power play to double the lead, and Danault even used his skate to deflect a puck in. When Newhook buried that overtime goal, the Canadiens and their coach were overflowing with emotion. You gotta feel for the Sabres, who said they gave "everything they had," battling home woes and goalie issues. Now, the Canadiens face the Hurricanes in the Eastern Final. More fireworks, I'm hyped!

Over in the Western Conference, things are just as intense. We've got the Avalanche and Golden Knights squaring off in the Western Final. Remember the Wild took on the Avalanche in an intense Round 2 matchup? And the Ducks went up against the Golden Knights in a brutal Second Round? It all led to this. The Avs, with MacKinnon, are prepared for a long series, hoping their depth scoring continues. But there's a huge question mark: Makar missed practice, and his status for Game 1 is still unclear! That's a massive blow. It's a classic coaching showdown too, with Bednar of the Avalanche facing Tortorella, ten years after they crossed paths. Vegas is using this mental break to their advantage, and the Hart-Wedgewood goalie matchup will be something to watch. Carolina, playing Montreal, are looking to keep rolling, saying they've "seen enough" of playoff disappointments. Love that hunger. Oh, and Foote was fired as Canucks coach, no replacement named. Wild, right?
What's Next for the Cup Contenders
So yeah, the Stanley Cup Playoffs are delivering everything we hoped for and more. Both the Eastern and Western Finals are set, and it's absolute must-watch TV. Top-tier hockey, massive stakes, every single shift matters. Get ready, because these next few weeks are gonna be insane!
