Rockies Dropped 23 on the A's and MLB Pitching Is Still Reeling
Holy smokes, Seattle, can you believe what's happening out there? Even when our own teams aren't making the biggest headlines, the sports world is absolutely WILD. We're talking about an MLB game this week where the Colorado Rockies hung a TWENTY-THREE SPOT on the Oakland A's, beating them 23-9! Twenty-three runs! Like, what even is defense anymore? You see that kind of chaos, and you gotta wonder if every pitcher in the league is just looking over their shoulder.
MLB's Wildest Rollercoaster Continues
Seriously, that Rockies-A's game was something else. Twenty-three runs in one game? That's not just a bad day, that's a full-blown existential crisis for any pitching staff. It wasn't the only eye-popping moment on the diamond, either. Shohei Yamamoto almost pulled off a no-hitter, getting deep into the ninth inning before it slipped away. You gotta respect that kind of dominance, even when it's not a guy in green and blue doing it. And then you have clutch bombs flying around, like Blake Chourio blasting a leadoff homer, Ben Rice hitting a freezing go-ahead shot in the ninth, and Jose Caminero delivering his own go-ahead blast. Even the legendary Paul Goldschmidt still has it, with a clutch ninth-inning homer. It's a reminder that anything can happen in baseball on any given night, good or bad.
