Rockies Up 23-9, But The National Sports Desk Is Completely Missing The Point In Seattle

It's early April, baby! The air is buzzing, M's are on the field, Hawks are getting geared up for the draft. Every Seattle sports fan is glued to screens, hungry for that next bit of news, that hot take, that buzz. But I gotta tell ya, I just scrolled through the latest Bleacher Report updates, and if you bleed green and blue like I do, you're gonna be furious. The big news? Absolutely ZERO specific mentions of our Mariners, Seahawks, or Kraken. What gives?

Where's Our M's News?!

You see headlines screaming "MLB Today 07:10pm TB (41-27) +140 LAD (45-27) -166." Other teams are playing. Then you hit the "Top MLB Highlights" section, and what do we get? "Rockies Up 23-9 on A's 🤯." Twenty-three runs! Wild. Then there's "Chourio Blasts Leadoff HR," "Clutch Ben Rice HR in 9th," "Yamamoto No-Hitter Ends In 9th 😳," "Miz's 15 K Complete Game 😱." These are all legit baseball moments, no doubt. But where is the love for Cal Raleigh crushing one at T-Mobile Park? Or Julio Rodriguez doing something jaw-dropping in center field? We know our guys are out there battling, setting the tone for April. But according to these national desks, it's like the Emerald City doesn't even have a baseball team. It's frustrating, plain and simple.

Hawks and Kraken Deserve Better!

And it's not just baseball, folks. The "Around the NFL" section is all generic buzz: "Report: Broncos Sign UFL Star," "Every Offense's Best/Worst-Case Scenario." No specific shout-outs to Mike Macdonald kicking off his tenure, or Jaxon Smith-Njigba getting hyped for year two, or Sam Darnold settling in. Nothing about Rashid Shaheed or Cooper Kupp. Our 12s are hungry for our team's early season narratives!

Then there's the hockey. "CANES WIN STANLEY CUP 🏆." Huge congrats to them, really. But as a Kraken fan, seeing that just makes you itch for our own time in the spotlight. Where's the early buzz on Matty Beniers, Jordan Eberle, or Joey Daccord? We're building something special with guys like Jared McCann and Vince Dunn. The national spotlight needs to start looking north!

This early season silence from the national sports world is baffling. Our teams are grinding, our players are making moves, and Seattle fans are showing up, loud and proud, every single game. So what's next? We keep doing what we do. We cheer on our Mariners every single pitch. We get hyped for every move the Seahawks make. We support our Kraken as they look ahead. The national media can focus on who they want, but we know what's happening here in the Emerald City. Our stories are being written right now, every time our teams step onto the field or ice. They can't ignore us for long!
