Sennecke's Moves Lifted Ducks Past Vegas, and Now This Series Is Completely Even

The Anaheim Ducks just forced Game 5 in the Western Conference second round. They beat the Golden Knights in Game 4 on May 11, and suddenly this series that looked like it could get away from them is locked up at two wins apiece.

Sennecke was the difference maker in this one. His power play goal in the opening period got the Ducks rolling early, and that set the tone for what turned into a full team effort. Vegas came in expecting to build on whatever momentum they had, but Anaheim had other ideas.

The Ducks Built It In Waves

Granlund finished Viel's feed in the first period to extend the lead. Then Killorn added a power play goal in the second that kept the pressure on Vegas. But here's the thing about a series like this: momentum swings fast. Howden whipped in a wrist shot for Vegas in the second to keep the Golden Knights close, but Moore extended the Ducks' lead in the third period and that was enough to seal it.

This wasn't Vegas playing their best hockey. Stone missed Game 4 with an injury, and the Golden Knights failed to step up in his absence. That's a huge problem when you're trying to even a playoff series on the road. You need your best players healthy and ready, and losing Stone's impact clearly mattered.

Game 5 Is Everything Now

Two teams. Two wins each. The series goes back home, and either one of these clubs can take control. The Ducks made a statement with this win, showing they're not going away quietly. Lineup changes helped Anaheim get this done, and now the question is whether Vegas can get healthy and respond, or if the Ducks have seized the momentum they needed.
