The 6-Foot-8 Sniper Who Shot 48.7% From Deep Is Back, and College Hoops Is Losing Its Collective Mind

Alright, buckle up, college basketball fans, because we just got hit with some HUGE news that's gonna send shockwaves through the entire NCAA! Milan Momcilovic, the guy who's been sitting pretty at the No. 1 spot in the transfer portal all spring, just pulled his name out of the NBA draft. You heard that right. This dude is returning to college hoops next season, and you KNOW the recruiters are going absolutely wild right now. His agents at Excel Basketball spilled the beans to ESPN, and trust me, this is the kind of move that changes the landscape.

A Draft Path Diverted, an Elite Shooter Returns

Seriously, Momcilovic went all-in on the NBA draft process. He even got that coveted invitation to the Combine, rubbing shoulders with the best of the best. And guess what? He absolutely cemented his status as one of the elite shooters in the whole damn pool! The guy shot nearly 69% in the four shooting drills. SIXTY-NINE PERCENT! That's just absurd. But even with that kind of pure stroke, he was sitting at No. 38 in ESPN's most recent mock draft. With the first round looking out of reach, he made the call. And now, he's instantly the single most sought-after player in college basketball, period. He jumped to No. 1 in the portal back in mid-April and hasn't budged since. We're talking about a game-changer here, folks.

The Numbers Don't Lie: A Certified Superstar

Let's not forget what this 6-foot-8 phenom did last season. Momcilovic wasn't just *a* good shooter, he was THE best shooter in college basketball. Think about it: he averaged a ridiculous 16.9 points per game and drained 48.7% from beyond the arc! FIFTH in the entire country for 3-pointers made, and FIRST in 3-point shooting percentage. That's not just good, that's historically good. He had some insane single-game explosions too, like dropping 34 points and eight 3-pointers against Cincinnati, or 29 points with five 3-pointers against Oklahoma State. Oh, and how about 28 points and eight more 3-pointers when he faced Arizona in the Big 12 tournament? Yeah, Arizona. Speaking of, they've been recruiting him for weeks, alongside Kentucky, Louisville, and St. John's, especially with their forward Koa Peat possibly staying in the NBA draft. Momcilovic's three seasons at Iowa State were successful, with the team winning 83 games and making two Sweet 16 appearances. Now, he's one of three starters leaving the Cyclones, alongside point guard Tamin Lipsey and All-American forward Joshua Jefferson, both of whom are out of eligibility.

Where Does the Reigning 3-Point King Go Next?

So, the biggest name in college basketball is officially back on the market, ready to dominate. We're talking about a player who can single-handedly reshape a team's offense with his insane shooting. The stakes are massive for Kentucky, Louisville, St. John's, and Arizona right now. Which program is going to land this guy? Who gets the player who was the best shooter in the nation? This isn't just a transfer, this is a declaration: Momcilovic is ready to light up college basketball again, and we can't wait to see where he takes his talents. Get ready for some fireworks!
