The Knicks Just Swept Philly Out of the Playoffs and Nobody in the East Saw It Coming
It's over. The New York Knicks completed a four-game sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Sixers' season ended in brutal fashion. Game 4 was a rout at what the Knicks essentially turned into their second home court, and now the defending East contenders are heading to the lottery instead of the Finals.
This wasn't supposed to happen to a roster with this much star power. Philadelphia came into this matchup expecting to make noise, but the Knicks were relentless. They dominated Game 4 so thoroughly that there's no coming back from this. A sweep in the playoffs isn't just a loss, it's a statement. It says the other team is better in every way that matters.

Nick Nurse's team ran into a buzzsaw, and there wasn't much they could do about it. The Knicks methodically dismantled Philadelphia across four straight games, leaving the Sixers looking helpless on their own court and even more lost on the road. Game 4 was the final nail in the coffin, a complete domination that underscored just how outmatched the 76ers were in this series.
This is the kind of series that makes you question everything about a roster. How do you get swept in the playoffs with the talent Philadelphia has? How do you fail to steal even one game at home? Those are the questions the Sixers front office will be asking as they look ahead to the offseason.
What's Next for New York
The Knicks are rolling. They just won their seventh straight playoff game and sent a two-time division rival home without a fight. This team has momentum heading into the next round, and that kind of confidence is dangerous. The East has to be watching what New York just did to Philadelphia and taking notes.
For the Sixers, it's time to hit the reset button. This season ended far earlier than anyone in Philly expected, and the blame falls on the entire organization, not just one player or one coach. The Knicks showed what a well-oiled machine looks like in the playoffs. The 76ers have to figure out how to become that team.
