UCLA Hit 206 Homers and Nobody In College Softball Is Ready For What Comes Next

Alright, listen up, Emerald City! You gotta see what just went down in Oklahoma City! UCLA absolutely WENT OFF in the Women's College World Series on Friday, dropping an 11-0, five-inning run rule on Arkansas to keep their season alive. We're talking four homers, a nine-run inning that made jaws hit the floor, and a performance that tells you everything you need to know about this squad: they are straight-up dangerous.

That Second Inning Was Pure Chaos

Seriously, if you missed the second inning, you missed the entire game. UCLA blasted this one wide open with a ridiculous nine-run explosion that had Arkansas pitcher Payton Burnham seeing stars. It started with Aleena Garcia, who wasted zero time, launching a lead-off homer to center on the very first pitch she saw. After an out, a hit-by-pitch, and a single, Soo-Jin Berry stepped up and delivered her fifth home run of the season, pushing the score to 4-0 and sending Burnham packing. But they weren't done! Jolyna Lamar and Rylee Slimp drew back-to-back walks, setting the stage for Megan Grant to smash a three-run shot, also on the first pitch, extending her NCAA record! Kaniya Bragg capped off the madness with a two-run double, making it a 14-batter, nine-run, three-homer inning. Unbelievable!

Record-Smashing Power and Stone-Cold Pitching

The Bruins kept the pressure on, adding another run in the third off a wild pitch, then Jolyna Lama (who started that big second inning rally!) put the cherry on top with a solo shot in the fifth. Here's the kicker: UCLA now has an astounding 206 home runs on the season! That's not just a big number, that's an NCAA record, blowing past the old mark of 161. Megan Grant's 42nd homer is just insane, showing the kind of power this team brings every single game. And let's not forget Taylor Tinsley on the mound, who went the distance, shutting down Arkansas with just three hits allowed, two walks, and two strikeouts. That's a total domination, folks. So, what's next for UCLA after that absolute clinic? They are 53-9 and rolling, now set to take on the loser of Saturday's Texas Tech-Tennessee game in another elimination battle on Sunday. With that kind of record-breaking power and ice-cold pitching, you know they're looking to keep that momentum going and make some serious noise. You just know everyone watching the WCWS has UCLA circled now, and for good reason!
