Victor Wembanyama Ejected After Flagrant 2 Elbow to Naz Reid's Chin, Spurs Drop Game 4

This is the moment that could flip the whole Western Conference semifinals. Victor Wembanyama got tossed from Game 4 in the first half after swinging his elbow directly into Naz Reid's chin, earning a flagrant 2 that sent him to the locker room for good. The Spurs star center watched from the sideline as Minnesota took full advantage, evening the series at 2-2.

The Elbow and the Ejection

Wembanyama's flagrant 2 wasn't some borderline call either. He threw an elbow that caught Reid in the chin, and the refs had no choice but to eject him. In a playoff series where every possession matters, losing your franchise centerpiece in the first half is a crushing blow. The Spurs fought through it but couldn't overcome his absence. Minnesota's victory tied things up heading into Game 5.

What Comes Next

Here's the real problem: Wembanyama could face a suspension for Game 5 on top of the ejection itself. That's two games potentially without your best player in a series that's now even. The Spurs had a chance to close this thing out on the road in Minnesota if they could've won Game 4. Instead, they're heading home needing to protect their own court with the threat of their star missing even more time hanging over their head.

Game 5 details are set, and if the Spurs can pull off a win in Minnesota, they could wrap up the seven-game series on Tuesday night and punch their ticket to the Western Conference finals. But that all depends on whether Wembanyama can suit up or whether the NBA's discipline lands him for another game.
