Yo, Seattle, you feeling that energy radiating from across the bridge? Because West Seattle is absolutely GOING OFF right now! From undefeated soccer squads to massive community festivals and new hot spots, the Emerald City's west side is buzzing with activity. If you thought things were quiet, think again. The whole community is lighting up, and it’s infectious!

Westside Athletes Are Crushing It!

First up, let’s talk about some serious athletic prowess! The West Seattle women's pre-professional soccer team just went head-to-head with Salmon Bay of Ballard in a showdown. Both teams were undefeated heading into Sunday, so you know something big had to give. That's the kind of high-stakes action we live for, even at the pre-pro level!

And it's not just the team sports. Huge shoutout to Ginevra Saloy from Seattle Christian, who snagged an incredible second place in the girls Class IA state golf tournament. Williams also took third, showing that the talent here in our corner of the world is undeniable. Plus, get ready for some friendly competition this Sunday: the Paddle Battle pickleball tournament is happening, and it’s all for a fantastic cause, benefiting West Seattle High School student-athletes. Let’s get out there and support our future stars!

Speaking of high school pride, don't miss the Greasy Peeps revving up for the 5th Annual West Seattle High School Car Show on Saturday, June 6. The school parking lot is gonna be transformed into a hub of chrome and community spirit. You know our Seattle youth are stepping up!

Epic Festivals, Fresh Spots, and Community Power!

But West Seattle isn't just about sports. This summer is shaping up to be legendary! The West Seattle Summer Fest is making its grand return for its 44th year, hitting the Junction from July 10,12, 2026. This free, three-day festival is one of our city's most cherished traditions, and get this: it's got a major zero-waste initiative and a dynamic music lineup. That’s how we do it, Seattle, keeping it green and groovy!

Before Summer Fest, mark your calendars for the Rock Walk on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Sip and stroll through the Junction to support the Summer Fest's live music scene. It’s a win-win!

And how about a massive shoutout to White Center? They just had their "Glow Up" celebration on May 21, marking the completion of major infrastructure projects. We're talking new lights and road improvements designed to make the neighborhood safer and more vibrant. This whole event happened during the monthly Rat City Art event, proving that our communities are always finding ways to shine.

Looking for a new spot to check out? The Castle Climbing Club in the industrial heart of West Seattle opened its doors on January 1st and is already shaping up to be a new kind of community hub. Seriously, the west side is just full of good news!

Keep That West Seattle Fire Burning!

It’s clear West Seattle is absolutely thriving, reflecting the amazing spirit of our entire Emerald City. From honoring our past with the annual Memorial Day Remembrance ceremony at Forest Lawn in Highpoint today, to forging new community bonds, there's always something happening.

We've got a busy slate of professional home games and significant road trips coming up for our teams next week, too. So let's carry this incredible West Seattle momentum right into supporting the rest of our Seattle squads. Keep that passion alive, 12s, because our city is vibrant and ready for anything!
