West Seattle High Stepping Up, On and Off the Field

The action on the diamonds isn't slowing down either. Chief Sealth IHS is set for some intense softball playoffs today at 3:30 pm against Lindbergh at Nino Cantu Southwest Athletic Complex. And get this, there's at least one more game ready to roll immediately afterward if our Chief Sealth Seahawks win! Talk about high stakes and keeping that playoff energy alive in West Seattle. But it's not just sports teams making strategic plays; our community is locked in on improving things for everyone. The SDOT is rolling out two "People Streets/Public Spaces" projects, with drop-in info sessions happening at 18th/Delridge and by Lafayette Elementary at California/Lander. These are critical moves for the future of our neighborhood, shaping our shared spaces just like a solid offensive line shapes a drive downfield.
Looking Ahead: West Seattle's Winning Streak Continues
So, what’s next for our incredibly active West Seattle community? That energy from the WSHS walkoff win is contagious! Beyond the field, there’s a West Seattle Junction Wine Walk from 5-9 pm, featuring over 30 wineries, and the South Seattle College Garden Center is open from 10 am to 3 pm for all you green thumbs. Whether you’re cheering on our local teams, contributing to vital community projects, or just enjoying a vibrant evening out, West Seattle is absolutely alive with passion and purpose.
