76 Bench Points: Why That Changes Everything About the Thunder-Spurs Series

Alright, so we're all here right now, glued to the NBA playoffs, and let me tell you, what the Oklahoma City Thunder's bench pulled off against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3? Absolutely WILD. We're talking **76 points** from their reserves! Yeah, you read that right. SEVENTY-SIX! They stormed into San Antonio, dropped that bomb, and now they’ve got a commanding 2-1 series lead after a 123-108 victory on the road. The Spurs? They've gotta be reeling.

OKC's Bench Broke the Game Open

Seriously, 76 points from the bench is not just a good night, it's a record-setting performance. The Thunder’s depth completely obliterated the Spurs in Game 3. You had to see it to believe it. This isn't just about winning a game, this is about putting a stamp on the series. With that kind of firepower, how are the Spurs going to respond? This series is quickly becoming a heavyweight bout, and while some are saying it's "not a rivalry just yet," when you get smacked like that, it sure feels personal.

Knicks Rolling, Cavs Searching for Answers

Over in the East, things are getting spicy too. The New York Knicks, led by Josh Hart, are absolutely cooking against the Cavaliers. Hart put up a playoff career-high 26 points in Game 2, helping the Knicks grab a 2-0 series lead. Can you believe it? The Cavs are in deep trouble. They’re still looking for their shots to fall, and Evan Mobley is squarely in the spotlight for Saturday's clash. If they want to avoid going down 3-0, Mobley has to deliver. Mitchell is trying to rally the squad, but it's a tough hole to climb out of.

Wemby, Holmgren Are Already Defensive Monsters

And hey, while all this playoff drama is unfolding, the NBA didn't forget about recognizing the league's top defenders. The 2026 Kia All-Defensive Teams were just announced, and guess who’s leading the charge? None other than Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren! These two phenoms are headlining both the First Team and Second Team selections. It’s wild to think about the defensive impact they already have. The future of defense is truly in excellent hands with those two patrolling the paint.

What's Next for the Playoff Grind?

So, what’s on deck after all this madness? The Thunder now have a huge 2-1 lead, so Game 4 is absolutely massive for both teams. The Cavs are staring down a 0-2 hole, trying to avoid going 3-0 down to the Knicks. And get this: the 2026 NBA Draft is only a month away, so expect tons of buzz after the Combine updates. Plus, the All-NBA Teams are set to be revealed this Sunday, 7 PM ET, on NBC and Peacock. There’s so much to look forward to, even if we're all still buzzing about that insane 76-point bench performance!
