A Washington High School Star Ditches the State and Nobody in the PNW Is Ready For It

Alright, 12s, buckle up because I'm absolutely fuming after seeing this news pop up. Just when you think you've got a handle on the regional recruiting scene, our rivals down south pull another one out of the bag. We're talking about a *local high school star*, one of the top prospects right here in Washington, who was just snatched away by Oregon football. This isn't just a flip, folks, it feels like a gut punch, and it happened in the blink of an eye.

The Brutal Four-Day Flip That Stings

Can you believe this? A top prospect, a high school star from our very own state, had committed to Washington State. You think, okay, good, keep that talent in Washington, right? We need our best staying close to home, building up the PNW football scene. But nope. Four days. That's all it took. Just four short days after pledging to the Cougars, this star tight end, who was absolutely one of the top players in Washington, announced his commitment to the Ducks. You hear that? Oregon football just made sure one of our state's top prospects committed to them. It's tough to swallow, seeing that kind of talent head south instead of staying right here in the Emerald City's backyard or at least within state lines.

Oregon's Aggressive Play and What It Means

Look, you gotta hand it to Oregon for their relentless recruiting, even if it makes our blood boil. The source says they're "making sure one of Oregon's top prospects stays home," but let's be real, this kid was a *Washington* high school star. This is a clear message from Eugene: they're coming for our talent, and they're not afraid to be aggressive about it. This star tight end is now officially a Duck, and for a Seattle fan who bleeds green and blue, it's a stark reminder of the constant battle for supremacy in the Pac-12, even down to the high school ranks. It's not just about what happens on the field on Saturdays, it's about these recruiting wins, too. This kind of move really puts a fire under our local programs. We need to lock down our homegrown talent. When a top prospect from Washington gets lured away after just four days, it shows we can't afford to rest. So, as we watch the Mariners hit the field at T-Mobile Park and get ready for the Seahawks at Lumen, remember that the future of Washington football is also being decided on the recruiting trail. We've got to keep our eyes on the prize and make sure the next local star stays right here.
