Mt. Spokane's Senior Class Is Chasing State, And The Whole State Is Watching!

Alright, 12s, you know we live and breathe Seattle sports, right? From the Mariners battling at T-Mobile Park to the Seahawks roaring at Lumen Field, the Kraken owning Climate Pledge Arena, and the Sounders dominating the pitch, our hearts are green and blue through and through. But listen up, because across our awesome state, there's some serious high school action going down too, and you gotta respect the grind! We're talking about Mt. Spokane's senior class in fastpitch softball, and they are absolutely eyeing a deep run at the state tournament. You can feel that energy, that hunger, it's infectious!

Mt. Spokane's Last Stand: Capping Prep Careers

This isn't just any team, folks. It's the *senior class* we're talking about here. This is their moment, their shot to cap off their prep careers with something unforgettable. A deep run at the state tournament isn't just about winning games, it's about cementing a legacy. Every pitch, every swing, every out, it all means something extra when it's your last go-around. You know that feeling, right? When our guys like Julio Rodriguez are sprinting to make a play, or Sam Darnold is scrambling for a first down? That's what these young athletes are facing, and the pressure is real. Are they ready for it? You better believe they're busting their butts to make it happen.

Washington Grit Beyond the Sound

And hey, while we're talking about competitive fire in our state, you gotta give a shoutout to some other programs too. How about Gonzaga? Top-seeded! They're looking to finish their WCC tenure with a flourish at the conference tournament. That's some serious basketball, showing that competitive spirit runs deep here in Washington, from the pros all the way down. And over in golf, Cheney just absolutely rolled to the 3A championship. No doubt, they left it all out there, and that's exactly what we love to see from athletes in our state, pure dominance when it counts. It just goes to show you, the talent and dedication are everywhere you look.

Saying Goodbye to Zephyr FC

It's not all celebration though, sometimes we face tough news in the sports world. Over in Spokane, Zephyr FC announced via a website post that their 2025-26 season will be their last. Man, that's a gut punch for their fans, for the players, for everyone involved. It's never easy to see a club go, and it reminds you to appreciate every single game, every single season we get to cheer on our teams. You just never know when it's going to be the last one. It makes you really value what we have here with our Kraken and Sounders, with all our Seattle clubs. So, yeah, while our focus is always, always on our Mariners, Seahawks, Kraken, and Sounders, it's pretty cool to see the passion for sports extending all over our amazing state. These high schoolers, the college teams, even clubs facing tough goodbyes, it's all part of the fabric of Washington sports. We're keeping an eye on that Mt. Spokane senior class, hoping they make that deep run, you know? What an awesome way to end a career. Let's go, Washington!
