Pavel Dorofeyev Just Ended It in Overtime and the Golden Knights Are One Win Away

Pavel Dorofeyev buried the overtime winner in Game 5, and Vegas is now sitting on a 3-2 series lead over Anaheim with a chance to punch their ticket to the Western Final. Jack Eichel set up the goal, and just like that, the Knights are on the verge of moving on.

This wasn't some clean, easy victory either. Dorofeyev came back from dealing with a painful blocked shot to deliver the dagger when it mattered most. That's the kind of grit you need when you're this close to advancing in the playoffs.

Zellweger's Late Tying Goal Kept the Ducks Alive

Anaheim wasn't going down without a fight. Zellweger tied it late in regulation with his first playoff goal, keeping the Ducks breathing and forcing the extra period. But Vegas had the final say, and Dorofeyev made sure of it.

The Golden Knights also got a power play goal from Dorofeyev earlier in the game on a terrific solo effort, and Hertl had given them the lead on a sly backhanded rebound. Vegas was clicking when it counted, even though Zellweger's clutch tying goal showed the Ducks still had some life left in them.

One More Win and Vegas Moves Forward

The Golden Knights are standing right at the door to the Western Final, needing just one more victory to send Anaheim home. With the 3-2 series lead in hand, Vegas has the momentum and the chance to finish this thing at home.

Game 6 is coming, and the pressure is all on the Ducks now. One loss and their season is done. One win for Vegas and they're dancing on to the next round.
