USMNT's 4-1 Stunner Over Paraguay Pulled in 24.886 Million Fans, and It's the Loudest Statement Seattle's Soccer Scene Could Ask For

Alright, Seattle, you already know the vibe. Our Sounders are legit, and we live and breathe soccer in the Emerald City. So when the USMNT takes the field and absolutely goes off, you know we're paying attention! And let me tell you, the US Men's National Team didn't just win big against Paraguay on Friday night, they absolutely *dominated* 4-1 at SoFi Stadium. But here's the kicker: the whole country was watching. Like, record-breaking numbers of us. This wasn't just a game, it was a national phenomenon!

The English Broadcast Numbers Are Pure Fire

You ready for this? Fox dropped the news ahead of Saturday's World Cup games, and it's insane. The USA-Paraguay match averaged a staggering 15.986 million viewers across Fox and their streaming platforms, Fox One and Tubi. Let that sink in for a second: 15.986 million! That makes it the most-watched USMNT telecast *ever*. Yeah, you heard that right, EVER. And it gets better: it's also the most-watched FIFA Men's World Cup Group Stage telecast in English-language history. Between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET, the telecast hit its peak, pulling in a massive 18.86 million viewers. We're talking serious eyes on the game, people who know good soccer when they see it.

Telemundo Went Big Too, Hitting Nearly 25 Million Total Viewers!

And it wasn't just Fox lighting up the scoreboard for viewership. Telemundo's Spanish-language broadcast of the USA-Paraguay game brought in an average of 8.9 million viewers across Telemundo, Peacock, and their streaming platforms. That's huge! It's the most-watched USA World Cup match ever on Spanish-language television, and it's also the most-watched World Cup Group Stage match not featuring Mexico in Spanish-language TV history. You combine those two monster broadcasts, and we're talking about an average of 24.886 million viewers in the United States. Twenty-four point eight eight six million! Now, sure, there's a new "Big Data+" method that boosts numbers by about 15%, but come on, these are still absolutely fantastic numbers that tell you everything you need to know about the hype. This team is for real, and the nation is buying in, especially in soccer-crazed cities like ours.

What's Next for Our Boys?

So, after that electrifying performance and viewership explosion, what's next? The USMNT is back in action this Friday, June 19, at 12 p.m. local Seattle time. They're facing off against Australia in their next Group Stage match. You know our guys, Cristian Roldan and Jordan Morris, are repping the Sounders on that national stage, and this kind of energy just builds the excitement for what they can achieve. Get ready, 12s, because if Friday's game was any indication, the USMNT is just getting started, and the rest of the world better be ready for them. Let's keep that momentum rolling!
