Washington High School Baseball Dropped The State Bracket and Emerald City Teams Are Ready For Chaos!

Alright, Seattle On Tap fam, buckle up! The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, the WIAA, just hit us with the official state tournament first-round baseball pairings this past Sunday, and let me tell you, the road to a championship is gonna be absolutely wild. These brackets are locked in across all six classifications, and the energy around the state for high school baseball is through the roof. We might not have game dates, times, or exact locations yet, but the matchups are out there, and it's time to start planning our road trips for glory!

The Big Show: 4A and 3A Teams Eyeing Everett Memorial

Listen, if you bleed green and blue like I do, you know how much a state title means. For our Class 4A and 3A squads, the dream culminates on May 29-30, with the state semifinals and finals all going down at Everett Memorial Stadium. Can you imagine the atmosphere? Looking at the 4A bracket, we've got some absolute slugfests lined up. No. 1 Richland is squaring off against No. 16 Skyline, and No. 2 Sumner, with their star Landon Meyer, who was caught flying around the bases back in April, is set to face No. 15 Moses Lake. You know Tahoma at No. 3 and Eastlake at No. 11, Kennedy Catholic at No. 10, and Woodinville at No. 9 are all looking to make some serious noise from the Emerald City area. In Class 3A, No. 1 Mount Vernon is ready for the winner of Kelso/Eastside Catholic, and we've got Mercer Island at No. 8 against No. 9 Roosevelt. These are the kinds of games that build legends, people.

Championship Dreams Spread Across Washington

But it's not just the big classifications getting all the action! The state is buzzing from top to bottom. Our Class 2A and 1A champions will be crowned at Joe Martin Stadium in Bellingham, which is always a fantastic spot for baseball. Think about Bainbridge at No. 1 in 2A, ready to take on No. 16 Pullman, or Chief Sealth coming in at No. 14 against Othello. Nathan Hale at No. 7 has a tough draw against No. 10 Ellensburg. Then we slide into Class 1A, where Montesano, the No. 1 seed, is battling No. 16 Royal. You've got King's at No. 11 and Cedar Park Christian at No. 8, plus Overlake/Bear Creek and Charles Wright/Life Christian in the mix, all fighting for their shot at Bellingham. Finally, for our Class 1B and 2B teams, the state finals are set for Wood Field at Carlon Park in Selah. Tri-Cities Prep at No. 1 in 2B versus No. 16 Orcas Island, and Liberty Christian at No. 1 in 1B. This is about more than just baseball, folks. It's about community, it's about these kids pouring their hearts out, and it's about the future of Washington sports. We're on the cusp of some truly unforgettable state tournament moments!
