Worst RBs In NFL History

Seattle On Tap Edit

Every NFL has that one running back who just never performed and left fans frustrated. These are the worst RBs in NFL history for each team.

Arizona Cardinals- (Ryan Williams 2011)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Ryan Williams in 2011 had a rough year for the Cardinals. He had 101 carries for just 375 yards (3.7 YPC). His career did get derailed by knee injuries.

Atlanta Falcons- Jacquizz Rodgers (2013)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Rodgers came in with a ton of hype. But in 2013 he had just 3.7 YPC and 4 fumbles. He never secured a full time role.

Baltimore Ravens- Le'Ron McClain (2009)

Seattle On Tap Edit

106 carries and 3.3 YPC just doesn't cut it. He was also notorious for goal-line fumbles.

Buffalo Bills- Reggie Bush (2015)

Seattle On Tap Edit

The Bills signed Reggie Bush to a big money deal. 181 carries and 712 yards later, he never lived up to the money paid.

Carolina Panthers- Eric Shelton (2006)

Seattle On Tap Edit

8 carries for 23 yards. And this guy was a second round pick. He missed his first season due to injury and then got cut when he came back his second season.

Chicago Bears- Curtis Enis (1998)

Seattle On Tap Edit

The Bears took Enis with the fifth overall pick and were hoping to get a franchise back. He remains one of the biggest draft busts of all time.

Cincinnati Bengals- Ki-Jana Carter (1995)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Ki-Jana Carter was the first overall pick of the 1995 NFL Draft. He became the biggest RB draft bust of all time.

Cleveland Browns- Trent Richardson (2012)

Seattle On Tap Edit

He had an affective rookie season and then he just flopped big time. 3.3 YPC and then traded during his second season.

Dallas Cowboys- Joseph Randle (2015)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Joseph Randle had 155 carries for 546 yards in 2015. He then got benched mid season and had off-field trouble.

Denver Broncos- Montee Ball (2015)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Ball had 158 carries for 553 yards as a rookie. But he fizzled out quick and got cut his second season.

Detroit Lions- Spencer Ware (2013)

Seattle On Tap Edit

132 carries and 409 yards for just 3.1 YPC. He got benched quick and never regained traction.

Green Bay Packers- Brandon Jackson (2007)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Brandon Jackson in 2007 was touted as a UDFA gem. But he had just 390 yards on 126 carries and got released.

David Johnson- Houston Texans (2020)

Seattle On Tap Edit

David Johnson got traded for DeAndre Hopkins which was hard enough. He was a disappointment in Houston.

Indianapolis Colts- Trent Richardson (2013)

Seattle On Tap Edit

The Colts traded for Richardson thinking they got a steal. Instead they just took a big loss in the Browns bust.

Jacksonville Jaguars- Chris Ivory (2013)

Seattle On Tap Edit

159 carries for 503 yards for Ivory coming from the Saints. Big contract, but then benched after one season.

Kansas City Chiefs- Clyde Edwards-Helaire (2020)

Seattle On Tap Edit

The problem with Helaire is not that he's a horrible RB. But that he was drafted in the first round and never lived up to that hype.

Las Vegas Raiders- Latavius Murray (2020)

Seattle On Tap Edit

133 carries for 436 yards. He really never did much and got cut mid-season.

Los Angeles Chargers- Melvin Gordon (2020)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Gordon had some good times but his 2020 season was a disaster. He had 131 carries for 436 yards and a holdout cost him the starting job.

Los Angeles Rams - Todd Gurley (2020)

Seattle On Tap Edit

We are specifically talking post contract here. Gurley was great at first. But after getting big money had declined so fast and was out of the league.

Miami Dolphins- Damien Williams (2019)

Seattle On Tap Edit

WR David Givens signed with big promise for the Titans. He played just five games.

Minnesota Vikings- Toby Gerhart (2010)

Seattle On Tap Edit

The Vikings took Gerhart with a second round pick in the draft. He never developed into a starting running back in the NFL.

New England Patriots - Dion Lewis (2018)

Seattle On Tap Edit

115 carries for just 415 yards. He never regained his early-career spark that he had in Miami.

New Orleans Saints- Latavius Murray (2020)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Murray was supposed to be a productive back. Instead he had 3.1 YPC and got cut.

New York Giants - Rashad Jennings (2017)

Seattle On Tap Edit

172 carries for 600 yards (3.5 YPC). He was replaced nice and quick.

New York Jets- Chris Ivory (2015)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Poor Chris Ivory he makes this list multiple times. He was a big money signing by the Jets but failed to live up to it. He had huge fumbles and low efficiency.

Philadelphia Eagles- LeGarrette Blount (2016)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Blount had 144 carries for 471 yards (3.3 YPC) this was two years post his 1,000 yard season. He did have some great seasons before and after however.

Pittsburgh Steelers - Tim Worley (1989)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Worley makes this list due to being drafted so high. He was the 7th overall pick and never lived up to lofty expectations.

San Francisco 49ers- Glen Coffee (2009)

Seattle On Tap Edit

84 carries for just 226 rushing yards. He was third round pick and and then retired at the age of 23.

Seattle Seahawks- Eddie Lacy (2017)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Eddie Lacy was known for being, well, for a lack of better words.. BIG. He started 3 games for the Seahawks and overall he had less than 200 yards on 69 total carries.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Louis Carter (1997)

Seattle On Tap Edit

Wow, there is bad and then there is this. 59 carries for 117 rushing yards. He was part of a winless Buccaneers team.

Tennessee Titans- LenDale White (2008)

Seattle On Tap Edit

White had 141 carries for 550 yards (3.9 YPC) in 2008. He had five fumbles and was out of the league quick.

Seattle On Tap Edit

He started just one season for the Commanders (Redskins), and was out of a starting job shortly after.
