Wyatt Johnston's Double-OT Power Play Sends Stars Past Wild, Takes 2-1 Series Edge
The Dallas Stars are one win away from taking control of their first-round matchup. Wyatt Johnston buried a power-play goal with 7:50 left in double overtime to lift Dallas to a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild in Game 3, giving the Stars a 2-1 series lead.
This is exactly the kind of moment that defines playoff hockey. You play 40 minutes of regulation, fight through one full overtime period, and then in double OT, when everyone's legs are screaming, someone has to step up. Johnston did. The power-play execution late in that second overtime frame was clinical, and now Dallas gets to head home with control of the series.

A 4-3 game in regulation is a shootout on ice, and Minnesota hung around long enough to force that extra hockey. But in the end, Johnston's timely strike in the second OT frame was the difference. Stars fans are feeling it. Minnesota has to find answers fast.
Game 4 is coming, and the Stars smell blood in the water. One more win at home and Dallas could be looking at the second round. The Wild are in must-win territory now, facing elimination stakes in the next matchup. This is playoff hockey at its finest: one power-play goal, one moment, and suddenly the whole series momentum shifts.
