The Storm introduced a new era of fresh players and coaches as the WNBA season kicked into gear. This wasn't a team coasting on last year's blueprint. This was a squad built for now, with new faces and new leadership ready to compete. The fans came to see what this Storm team could become, and the turnout showed just how much this city cares about watching their team evolve.
The Final Score
The Golden State Valkyries took the win Friday, 91 to 80. It was a tough opener to swallow, but that's what opening nights sometimes bring. The real story wasn't the scoreboard. It was those 14,200 fans who came out to welcome the new Storm. That's the foundation. That's what Seattle does for its teams when they're building something real.
