Adam Larsson is About to Join an Exclusive Club, and Seattle Needs to Celebrate This
This is one of those moments that doesn't come around often in hockey, so pay attention. Adam Larsson, the rock on the back end for the Kraken, is about to reach 1,000 NHL games played. Yeah, you read that right. One thousand games. The guy is about to get his own silver stick, an award handed out to basically the most durable, reliable players in the entire league.
A Rare Achievement in Professional Hockey
Let's be real for a second: playing 1,000 games in the NHL is not something most guys get to do. It takes consistency, durability, and a ton of talent to stick around that long. Larsson has been exactly that kind of player for Seattle. He's the kind of defenseman who shows up night after night, doesn't make the highlight reel, but also doesn't let the other team's best guys burn him. That's the stuff that wins hockey games.
What This Means for the Kraken Right Now
Having a guy like Larsson locked in on your blue line is huge, especially in a playoff race. He's the steadying force that younger guys like Vince Dunn and Brandon Montour can learn from. When you've got a defenseman who has been around for a thousand games, you're getting someone who has seen every situation, every trick, every way to break down a defense. That experience is gold when the games get tighter and the stakes get higher.
This is the kind of milestone that reminds us why we're lucky to have Larsson wearing the Kraken crest. The silver stick is just a trophy, but what he brings to this team every single night? That's priceless. Here's hoping he gets to celebrate this achievement with a playoff run in front of the 12s at Climate Pledge Arena.
