Alex Condon Is Staying at Florida for One More Run and the NBA Just Lost a Top-30 Pick
The 6-11 forward from Perth, Australia confirmed Wednesday afternoon via Instagram that he's coming back for his senior season at Florida. Condon posted a photo with the caption "one more" and that's all Gators fans needed to see. After a heartbreaking Elite Eight loss to No. 9 seed Iowa last month, when Florida entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed looking to repeat as national champions, Condon had been on the fence about leaving early. He was genuinely 50-50 on it. But he's decided to stick around.
The Guy Who Carried the Defending Champs Is Coming Back
Condon was Florida's leading scorer last season, putting up 15.1 points per game to go with 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 blocks. He was part of the 2025 national title team under head coach Todd Golden and has started 70 games across three seasons since he came to Gainesville from Perth in 2023. That's 107 total games for the program. He was a key piece of what Todd Golden built.

The Gators Have Work to Do to Get Back
The bad news for Florida: Thomas Haugh and Rueben Chinyelu have not committed to returning. Haugh is a projected top-20 pick if he declares, so the Gators lost two significant pieces from last year's roster. Getting Condon back is massive, but Golden is going to have to rebuild around him if those other guys leave.
One more shot at it. That's what Condon is banking on.
