Anthony Richardson Wants Out of Indianapolis, and the Colts' QB Future Is Already a Mess

Indianapolis has a problem, and it's sitting in their QB room right now. Anthony Richardson has made it crystal clear he wants a trade from the Colts, and while GM Chris Ballard is doing damage control, the reality is stark: they're getting calls, but nothing is actually happening.

"We've had some calls, but nothing's come to fruition at this time," Ballard said, which is corporate speak for "we're stuck." When your franchise quarterback is publicly asking for the exit door in April, that's not a negotiating position. That's a crisis.

The Uncertainty Spiral

This is what QB uncertainty looks like in real time. Richardson didn't bury his request. He didn't hint at it through an agent. He made it clear, period. That tells you everything about where things stand in Indianapolis right now. The Colts are getting inquiries, sure, but the lack of actual offers? That's the real story here. Teams are sniffing around, but nobody is ready to pull the trigger on a deal.

What's Next

For the Colts, this is a ticking clock. If Richardson truly wants out and no trades materialize, you're looking at a locker room that knows its QB doesn't want to be there. That poison spreads fast. Ballard needs to either find a trading partner willing to pay up or figure out how to make this work internally, and right now, neither option looks realistic. The Colts are hoping something changes soon. The calendar, though, is working against them.
