It doesn't get more impressive than what Seattle Mariners catcher, Cal Raleigh, is doing this summer. The Big Dumper is shattering the record books in Seattle AND throughout MLB history.
Cal Raleigh has hit three homers in the last two games to hit the big number of 50 home runs. He is officially the FIRST CATCHER in MLB History to hit 50 home runs in a season, passing Salvador Perez for the most all-time.
He is also chasing the record for most home runs in a season by a switch-hitter which was set by Mickey Mantle in 1961 with 54 home runs. He is only 5 homers away from breaking that record.
He is 13 home runs away from breaking Aaron Judge's record of most homers in a season in the American League that was set at 62 in 2022. That one will be a lot harder to break with 29 games to go.
Last but not least, Ken Griffey Jr. has the Seattle Mariners single season record with 56 homers, which he did two times... Cal Raleigh needs 7 more home runs in 29 games to officially have the Seattle Mariners all-time single-season record for home runs.
50 Big Dumpers.

2nd player in Mariners history to hit 50 homers.
6 away from tying Ken Griffey Jr for the most in a season in Mariners history, 7 away from breaking it.
30 games to go (including today) 🔱pic.twitter.com/qKOWbcz8J3
Let's not forget after all this... Cal Raleigh is a CATCHER, playing the harder and most demanding defensive position in baseball. The toll it takes on the body usually makes it harder to have an all-time hitter at that spot. It makes everything he is doing even more impressive. OH YEAH, don't forget he also won the Platinum Glove in the AL last year, which is the award for the BEST player on defensive in the entire league.
Already broke the catcher record, chasing the American League, switch-hitting, and Mariners record... 29 game to go. It does not get more impressive than this....
