College Coaches Are Already Eyeing These Under-the-Radar NFL Draft Gems

The first night of the NFL draft is electric, man. All those top-10 picks, the big names you've been hearing about all season. But here's the thing: the real separators between great front offices and mediocre ones? That's when it gets interesting. Once the first wave of hype dies down, the smart teams are hunting for value on Day 2 and into Day 3, and that's where sleepers live.

Why Sleepers Matter More Than You Think

NFL scouts and talent evaluators are constantly searching for the same thing: productive college players who fell through the cracks. We're talking about under-the-radar prospects sitting outside the top 50 or 60 picks who end up filling critical roles. Some of them become legitimate starters. The league is loaded with guys who got overlooked for whatever reason and had to wait longer than they deserved for that life-changing phone call.

What the Coaches Are Saying

To figure out who's actually getting buzz, I talked to more than 30 college coaches about potential sleeper candidates for the upcoming NFL draft in Pittsburgh. Some coaches naturally talked about their own guys, but here's what matters: plenty of them also identified under-the-radar prospects they've faced head-to-head and explained exactly why those players are going to succeed at the next level.

This is the stuff that actually matters for teams trying to build through the draft. While everyone's focused on the marquee names, the real winners are finding diamonds in rounds 4 through 7. That's where the Seahawks and other contenders separate themselves.
