Everton's U21 Player of the Year Is GONE, and Cambridge Utd Fans Need to See Who They Just Signed

Hold up, y'all! Did you see this? Isaac Heath, the winger who's been absolutely tearing it up in the youth ranks, just officially dipped from Everton! Yeah, you heard that right, he's made a permanent move to Cambridge United. This dude was legit. After spending last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, he's now officially starting a whole new chapter, and frankly, it feels like a big one for Cambridge Utd. We're talking about a player who has shown serious flashes of brilliance, and it’s time to dig into why this move has everyone buzzing.

From Academy Standout to U21 Star

Let's rewind a bit. Heath joined Everton when he was just 13 years old. Thirteen! Talk about bleeding blue, right from the jump. He didn't just show up, he climbed through their Academy ranks, putting in serious work year after year. We saw him become a total fixture for the Everton Under-18s during both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. He wasn't just there; he was absolutely balling out, developing his game constantly. Then, just a year later, he started making frequent appearances for the Under-21s. And get this: in the 2024-25 season, the dude didn't just play, he *won* the Club's Under-21s Player of the Season award. That’s a huge deal, a real statement! He notched six goal contributions in just 16 Premier League 2 matches, showing off insane versatility by playing everywhere from central-midfield to full-back to winger. Six contributions in 16 games? That's a playmaker right there, folks, a guy who knows how to impact the score sheet. He’s clearly got the talent and the drive.

A New Chapter for Heath

So, if he was tearing it up so much in the youth setup, why the move, you ask? Last summer, Heath did get some brief looks with the senior side, making up the numbers in three pre-season friendlies against Accrington Stanley, Blackburn Rovers, and West Ham United. He was there, he was training, he was part of the squad feel. But here’s the kicker, the real gut-punch: he never actually got to play for the first team in the Premier League. Never got his big shot, you know? Sometimes, a player's got to make a tough call and find a new home to really get the game time and opportunity to shine. And that's exactly what he's doing now with Cambridge United, heading over for an undisclosed fee. Heath himself said it best, and you can practically feel the excitement oozing from his words: "I'm delighted to get the move over the line. This feels like the right club for me at this stage of my career, and my conversations with the manager played a big part in my decision to come here. We spoke in depth about how I fit into the team's style of play and the plans for me going forward, which really excited me. I'm just looking forward to getting started now.” That kind of enthusiasm? That's what you want to hear from a guy coming in, a player hungry for his chance. He's ready to prove himself, ready to get to work and show what he can do. What’s next for Isaac Heath at Cambridge Utd? We’re about to find out, but with his U21 Player of the Season pedigree and that clear determination, you know he’s coming to make a serious impact. Keep your eyes peeled for this kid, because he's got that fire, and he's ready to light it up for Cambridge!
