Four Straight Wins in 24 Hours and Seattle Sports Is Finally Breathing Again

If you've been a Seattle sports fan this week, you might need to sit down for a second. Because we just lived through one of the most electric 24-hour windows this city has seen in years, and it all started Wednesday night.

Wednesday Night: The Kraken Punch Their Ticket

Adam Larsson sends the opposition home with an overtime snipe, and the Kraken advance deeper into the playoffs on home ice at Climate Pledge Arena. Everything about this was perfect. The celebration. The stick toss. The crowd absolutely losing it. And Joey Daccord? He had the other team in absolute hell all game long. It was electric to see him and the rest of the squad seal the deal in front of the home faithful.

Thursday Afternoon and Evening: The Mariners Go Full Walkoff Mode

Cal Raleigh walks it off for the Mariners in the first game of a doubleheader. The clubhouse responded when it mattered most, and suddenly things are looking up in the Emerald City. Plus, Julio Rodriguez launched his shot in perfect fashion. Nice little afternoon at T-Mobile Park.

But wait, there's more. Alec Bohm delivers in the second game, leading the team to another walkoff win and completing the sweep. Two walkoffs in the same day is pretty sick. Especially when you consider that one of the biggest critiques of this lineup is they struggle with small ball. It's home runs or nothing. But both of these walkoffs came from just putting the ball in play, so we'll take it. And the Mariners are rolling under the new interim manager. For a ballclub that was on a losing streak not long ago, things are trending in the right direction.

Thursday Night: The Seahawks Complete the Sweep

Sam Darnold and the Seahawks trounce the opposition to force an unthinkable Game 7. The despair after the earlier blowout was real. Down 3-1 going back to the road? It seemed impossible. And yet, the supporting cast found their groove, and it all carried over into a full-blown beatdown. For the first time in a while, Seattle fans are finally getting to see how good this trio can be. Add on the stellar production from the depth players, and you have yourself a squad that might actually pull off the comeback.

The Kraken have plenty of hockey left. The Mariners could stumble tomorrow. The Seahawks still have a challenging Game 7 ahead. But seeing all three teams go a combined 4-0 in the past day, in the way they did it, was an awesome feeling. That's the kind of 24 hours that reminds you why you bleed green and blue.
