Fox Puts the Dagger in Portland: Spurs Close Out Blazers 114-95 in Game 5

San Antonio is heading home with a series win in their pocket. The Spurs just finished off the Portland Trail Blazers 114-95 in Game 5, and it wasn't even close down the stretch. Fox delivered the big finish when it mattered most, and that was basically all Portland needed to see to know the series was over.

Fox Takes Over When It Counts

This is what playoff basketball looks like when one team has the goods and the other is running on fumes. Fox stepped up big in the closing moments, putting the game away with a performance that left no doubt about who belonged in the next round. When you need someone to close out a series, you want a guy who can take over down the stretch, and that's exactly what happened here.

The Blazers' Road Ends in San Antonio

Portland came into Game 5 facing elimination, and the Spurs made sure there would be no miracle comeback. The final score of 114-95 tells the story: this wasn't a battle that went down to the wire. San Antonio controlled the pace and the intensity from start to finish, and Portland just couldn't find an answer. When Wembanyama and Fox are both playing at this level in a playoff game, most teams don't have the firepower to keep up.

The Spurs are moving on. The Blazers are heading home early. That's the business of the playoffs right there.
