Giants and Cowboys Opening Week 1 on Sunday Night Football, and the Rest of the Schedule Drops Thursday

The Giants and Cowboys are squaring off in primetime to kick off the 2026 season on Sunday Night Football. That's the headline. That's also basically all we know right now, because the NFL hasn't dropped the full schedule yet.

Here's what's coming: the rest of New York's 2026 schedule hits the public on Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Giants will release it across their website, app, and social media channels. So if you're trying to circle dates on your calendar or plan around your team's bye week, you've got less than a week to wait.

Week 1 Primetime Matchup Sets the Tone

Opening with the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football is about as big as it gets. These are two of the most storied franchises in the NFC East, and putting them in primetime for Week 1 tells you everything about how the league views this division race. John Harbaugh gets his shot against one of his division rivals right out of the gate, and the whole country will be watching.

Full Schedule Coming Thursday Night

Once Thursday rolls around and the schedule is official, we'll know exactly what the Giants' full 2026 slate looks like. Until then, we're sitting with one confirmed game and a whole lot of questions about the road ahead. Check back Thursday night to see who else Big Blue will be facing down the stretch.
