Keibert Ruiz Went Nuclear and the Nationals Couldn't Be Stopped

The Washington Nationals just took down the Minnesota Twins 7-5 in a rubber game that belonged entirely to one man: Keibert Ruiz. This dude showed up when it mattered, and the Twins had no answer for what he brought to the plate.

Ruiz Put the Team on His Back

Here's what Ruiz did in this one: two doubles, a home run, four RBIs, and three runs scored. That's the kind of line that wins games, especially in a winner-take-all matchup between division rivals. The Nationals needed someone to step up against a visiting Minnesota team, and Ruiz was that guy. His power stroke was clean, his timing was dialed in, and he made the most of every at-bat that mattered.

The Nationals Get the Edge

This was the third game of the series, the one where everything comes down to a single outcome. Washington came through 7-5, and Ruiz's performance was the difference maker. When you're looking at a rubber match, you need your best players performing at their peak, and Ruiz delivered exactly that kind of game. The Twins came to play, but they couldn't match what the Nationals put together, largely because Ruiz controlled the pace and the momentum from his spot in the order.

That's the kind of performance that sticks with you. Ruiz made his presence felt all over the box score, and the Nationals walked away with the series. It's early in the season, but games like this one tell you everything about a team's character and who they can rely on when the pressure's on.
