LeBron James Thinks Every GM Would Pick Him First, And His Career Could End This Summer

Alright, Seattle, listen up, because the GOAT debate just got a whole new level of wild! We're talking about LeBron James, right, the dude who has dominated the league for two decades. As he's staring down the end of his epic NBA career, the man was asked about that eternal argument: him or Michael Jordan for the greatest of all time? And his answer? Straight up, no hesitation. He told Time magazine, "I'm not taking nobody over me." BOOM! Talk about a mic drop! He's not just confident, he's absolutely convinced, and honestly, you gotta respect that fire.

The King's Unshakeable Confidence

Can you even imagine that level of self-belief? LeBron laid it out there, crystal clear, saying "There's no question" about his pick for the GOAT. He even went on to acknowledge that, yeah, other legends like Michael Jordan, the late Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Shaq, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar probably think the same thing about themselves. He said, "I don't think none of us are going to take somebody else." But then, he circled right back to himself. If a general manager was on the baseline, looking at all those legends for the number one pick, LeBron said, "it's gonna be hard not to take me, champ." That's the kind of swagger you expect from a player who has redefined the game again and again.

My Journey, My Rules

It's not just about stats and rings for LeBron, though. He was asked if he's a more influential athlete than Jordan, and his take was super interesting. He admits that if you grew up in the Jordan era, you're going to say Jordan. But get this: he also said if you grew up in the LeBron era, "they're still gonna say Jordan." Wild, right? But he quickly explained his mindset, saying he's never tried to "step my feet in another man's shoes" and compare himself. For him, "My journey is my journey. I do what I do. I know what I've brought to the table. From a basketball standpoint, an inspiring standpoint, an influential standpoint, I know I can walk in any room." That's a man who knows his worth, who understands the impact he's had, regardless of where anyone else places him in the pecking order.

The Clock is Ticking for the King

Here's where it gets real, folks. All this talk about GOATs and legacies? It could be coming to an end sooner than we think. LeBron is set to become an unrestricted free agent as early as this summer. Can you believe it? He's genuinely undecided about whether he'll retire or push for an unprecedented 24th NBA season. Yeah, you heard that right, *twenty-fourth* season! Whether it's with the Los Angeles Lakers or another team, that decision is huge. He told Time that "It's up to the mind. Where the mind goes, the body will lay. When I'm not in love with getting to the arenas on game days five hours before to start my preparation, if I'm out of love wit[h getting there]..." That's where his quote ends, leaving us all hanging. What's going on in that mind, King? This isn't just about another free agency decision, it's potentially the end of an era. Will LeBron lace up for an unprecedented 24th season, or will he walk away at the height of his powers, having cemented himself as the one and only GOAT in his own eyes? The entire league, and every single basketball fan, is holding their breath waiting for what's next.
