HEROIC, Spirit, and SAR Just Punched Their Tickets: Three Teams Survive Do-or-Die at PGL Wallachia
Three teams are heading to the playoffs at the PGL Wallachia Season 8 event in Bucharest, Romania, after a wild Wednesday of elimination matches that saw HEROIC, South America Rejects, and Team Spirit all secure their spots in the next round. The $1 million Dota 2 tournament is down to eight teams, and the stakes just got real.
The Pressure Cooker Rounds That Decided Everything
Wednesday's Round 5 was brutal. All sixteen teams came in with 2-2 records, meaning three of them were going home empty-handed. HEROIC swept GamerLegion with back-to-back decisive wins in 42 and 44 minutes. SAR made it through in a tighter battle against MOUZ, stealing the series 2-1 with a 45-minute victory on one map and a 58-minute win on another, sandwiching a 53-minute loss in between. Team Spirit closed out Xtreme Gaming, starting with an absolute marathon 72-minute grind on one side before flipping the script with a quick 40-minute stomp on the other.
