Could all the latest money being given out to WRs in the NFL impact how much money Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf is in line to make? There are two years left on his current deal, but DK Metcalf could be looking to cash in on the red-hot receiver market soon. WRs around the NFL have been getting paid some big money as of late, and yesterday the San Francisco 49ers resigned Brandon Aiyuk to a 4-year-$120 million dollar deal. The passing game has continued to become more of a priority in the modern NFL, so star WRs are getting big cash with these lucrative multi-year deals with a ton of guaranteed money and huge signing bonuses.
Metcalf, who is only 26 years old, has two years remaining on his extension that he signed before the 2022 season. So most likely, his time to negotiate is after this season ends and going into next season. But, if DK has another great season, expect him to go after a big extension next offseason.
I feel like DK deserves to get paid. Yesterday, Brandon Aiyuk got a huge deal and DK is a better and more consistent receiver than Aiyuk. It'll be interesting to see how much money the team invests in the wide receiver position.
