Jacob Misiorowski Struck Out 11 and the Yankees Never Saw It Coming

The Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski was absolutely locked in, fanning 11 batters in Milwaukee's win over New York. This is the kind of dominant pitching performance that has you checking the box score twice just to make sure you read it right.

Misiorowski Takes Over

When a starter punches out 11 in a single outing, you're watching someone in complete control of the mound. Misiorowski didn't just get outs, he was getting them on his own terms. The Yankees' lineup, usually dangerous enough to make any pitcher sweat, had no answers for what he was throwing. That's the kind of game that gets replayed and remembered.

Bad News for Milwaukee Too

But there was a concerning moment in the Brewers' win: left fielder Brandon Lockridge had to exit the game after sustaining a deep cut on his knee. You never want to see a teammate go down, and the severity of what happened to Lockridge could loom large depending on how serious the injury turns out to be. That's something the Brewers' medical staff and front office will be monitoring closely as the season pushes forward.

What's Next

Performances like Misiorowski's are rare enough that they stick with you. When a pitcher is that dominant on a big stage against a lineup like the Yankees, it's a statement about where he is in his development. The Brewers will take the win and hope Lockridge's injury isn't as bad as it looked.
