Jazz Chisholm Jr. Erupted in Houston and the Yankees Just Buried the Astros 12-4

The Yankees showed up in Houston on Thursday night ready to take care of business, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. made sure everyone in the ballpark knew it. New York absolutely demolished the Astros 12-4, putting them up 1-0 in the series with a performance that had some serious teeth to it. This wasn't a nail-biter. This was a statement.

Jazz Made His Mark Early

Chisholm Jr. was the spark that got this whole thing rolling. He delivered a clutch hit that ignited the Yankees' offensive explosion, and once the bats got loose, Houston had no answer. Will Warren took the mound for the Yankees and pitched well enough to set the tone, and the lineup just kept piling it on. The Astros, for what it's worth, did get some help from themselves. Jose Altuve's miscue on the field handed the Yankees a big assist, and that's the kind of mistake that can swing a game like this when New York's hitting is already in full flow.

But There's a Cloud Over the Bronx

The win feels great, but there's a catch. Giancarlo Stanton got pulled from Friday's game with lower leg tightness, and that's not the kind of injury news you want to see this early in the season. Stanton being sidelined, even temporarily, is something the Yankees are going to have to monitor closely as this series continues. You can't replace that kind of power in the middle of your lineup, so keeping him healthy is going to be critical down the line.

For now though, the Yankees are rolling. They came into Houston, took game one in dominant fashion, and showed that when this lineup connects, it can be devastating. The Astros know what's coming next.
