John Andrzejek Is Leaving Campbell to Join Louisville's Staff and College Hoops Just Got Shuffled

Campbell's head coach John Andrzejek is heading to Louisville. That's the move. He's jumping from running his own program to joining Pat Kelsey's staff as the Cardinals look to reload in the transfer portal era. It's one of those coaching carousel moves that feels small until you realize what it actually means for both programs.

The Shuffle Begins

Andrzejek was leading Campbell, but now he's part of Louisville's coaching staff. For a program trying to figure out its identity and compete in a loaded ACC, adding an experienced head coach to the bench is a statement. You don't bring in someone with head coaching experience unless you're serious about the work on the recruiting trail and in practice.

The timing matters too. Louisville basketball is deep in the transfer portal conversation, trying to build a roster that can hang with the elite programs in their conference. Having someone like Andrzejek, who knows how to evaluate talent and manage a program, gives Pat Kelsey another voice in the room when it's time to make moves.

What This Means for the Portal Battle

UofL basketball is going to need everything working in its favor when the transfer portal officially opens. The Cards have to be sharp, aggressive, and connected. Adding Andrzejek to the staff signals that Louisville is treating this offseason like a championship-level program should: by bringing in people who know how to build winners.

Expect Louisville to be active. Really active. And expect Andrzejek to play a role in identifying targets and making the pitch to guys who could move the needle for the Cardinals.
