Abraham Lucas is a integral part of the offensive line for the Seattle Seahawks. Earlier this off-season he underwent knee surgery and his recovery time is unfortunately taking longer than expected. He will begin the season on the PUP list which means he is out to minimum of four games of the NFL season. However, Seahawks General Manager John Schneider gave somewhat of a concerning quote on Lucas and his availability early in the season:
Of course, taking your time with a player and making sure what you are doing what is good for the long term is a great and the best approach. However, this doesn't sound like a quote of someone who is optimistic the player will return by the fifth game of the season and Lucas could be out for a much more extended period of time. Which would be a major blow to the Seahawks offensive line.John Schneider expects Abe Lucas to play this year. But also says they’re playing the long game with Abe, making sure to take care of him and do what’s best for player and team long term.
