Josh Naylor's Bat Carries Mariners Past Cardinals in Tight 3-2 Finish

The Mariners sneaked past the Cardinals 3-2 on Friday night in St. Louis, with Josh Naylor leading the charge. In a game that came down to clutch hits and solid pitching, Seattle found just enough offense to pick up the win and stay competitive early in the season.

Naylor Delivers When It Counts

Josh Naylor was the difference maker for Seattle in this one. The key contributor came through in the moments that mattered, helping the Mariners push across the three runs they needed to hold off a Cardinals squad that refused to go away quietly. It was the kind of performance that shows why Naylor is a big part of what this team is trying to build.

A Close One Throughout

This wasn't a blowout. St. Louis stayed right in the hunt, scoring two runs to keep things tight all the way through. The Mariners' pitching did enough to hold the line, but the win came down to Seattle's ability to string together hits when the pressure was on. In early April baseball, these kinds of close games often define whether you're moving in the right direction or treading water.

The M's are back in action soon, looking to build on this win and establish some momentum out of the gate. Every game matters this early, and Friday night showed this team has the ability to win games when they need to.
