Kirk Herbstreit Said WHAT About Miami, and NOBODY'S Ready For That Playoff Twist

Yo, did you guys SEE what Kirk Herbstreit just dropped? Like, for real? The dude is out here picking MIAMI to win the College Football Playoff already! April is barely here, and he's calling it. I gotta be honest, that caught me completely off guard. Miami? Really? This early in the game, that’s a HUGE take, and you know everyone in college football is already losing their minds about it.

Herbie's Hot Take and the Fallout

Seriously, a Miami pick for the CFP? That's the kind of wild call that gets folks talking, and it's definitely got the internet buzzing. It kinda throws a wrench into everyone's early season expectations, right? It's not just a casual guess, this is *the* Kirk Herbstreit, so you know people are gonna scrutinize it. We’re still seeing teams battle it out on the recruiting trail and figure out their rosters, and Herbie drops this bombshell. It just goes to show you, sometimes the experts see stuff we don't, or they’re just trying to stir the pot a little. Either way, it's setting up some serious drama for the season ahead.

UGA's Rollercoaster on the Recruiting Trail

Speaking of rosters, let's talk about what's going down with the Georgia Bulldogs, man. It's been a real mixed bag out there for them lately. They just lost out on the No. 7 QB recruit Peter Bourque to an ACC program, which stings, right? And then another four-star CB slipped away to Virginia Tech. Ouch. Plus, they saw elite WR decommit Aden Starling name his top three schools, and elite Alabama CB decommit Nash Johnson only listed UGA among his top six. Donte Wright, another decommitment, just shut down his recruitment entirely. It’s like, come on, Dawgs, what’s happening? But it’s not all doom and gloom. They *did* earn a commitment from three-star LB Temorris Campbell, which is solid. And they're still pushing to flip four-star Oklahoma QB commit Jamison Roberts, so there’s hope! They also just offered four-star Alabama QB Kingston Preyear. So, they're still hustling for talent, but the misses are definitely something to watch as we get further into the season. You gotta wonder how much these early recruiting battles impact a team's confidence down the line.

More Dawg Talk and Pro Moves

Away from the gridiron, UGA baseball pulled off a massive 2-1 victory over Auburn, which is pretty sweet. Always good to see a W on the diamond, especially when you're battling it out with rivals. And hey, for some former Dawgs, the pros are calling! Rookie Oscar Delp just inked a $7.2 million contract with the Saints, which is a big pay day! Christen Miller also signed an $11.8 million rookie contract with the Saints. Good for those guys getting their bags! On the flip side, former Georgia safety Chris Smith got waived by the Jets, which is a tough break, but that's the nature of the NFL, right? Always tough to see former college stars hit those speed bumps. Also, you got UGA golfers out there aiming for the 2026 PGA Championship, which is a whole other level of sports dominance! Pretty wild to see all these different facets of the UGA athletic program making waves. So yeah, a lot going on in the college sports world, from Herbstreit's wild picks to the recruiting grind. We've got a lot to chew on for the next few weeks. What do you guys think of Herbie's Miami take? Let us know! The season is just getting started, and these early moves, whether it’s a recruit signing or a bold prediction, really set the stage for what’s to come. Get ready, it's gonna be a fun ride!
